Andre Baron Jaumotte has been a professor at the UniversitA(c) Libre de Bruxelles, as well as the head of the institute of applied mechanics, institute of aeronautics, vice-chancellor and Chairman of the board of that University. He also serves as the chairman of the board of the von Karman Institute of Fluid Dynamics, and a member of the board of directors in the Belgium society of mechanical and environmental engineering.
Charles Hirsch
Charles Hirsch has served as professor and head of the department of fluid Mechanics at Vrije Universiteit Brussel. Dr. Hirsch is the founder and president of NUMECA International, provider of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software and consulting services in Belgium and worldwide. He has edited 20 books, authored/co-authored 350 journals and conference papers, and has written a two-volume textbook on CFD: "Numerical Computation of Internal and External Flows."
Ahmad Nourbakhsh
Ahmad Nourbakhsh is a professor of turbomachinery at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Tehran. He is also a collaborative professor and researcher with the University of Brussels. Dr. Nourbakhsh had published two books in the filed of turbopumps: "Pump and Pumping" and "Turbomachinery: Principles-Turbopumps."

Hamideh Parizi holds PhD in Mechanical Engineering from University of Toronto. She is presently working as the vice president of Simulent Inc, a software development and consulting company in Toronto, Canada. Improved CFD textbook

The new text is a huge improvement over Hirsch's previous two-volume text on the same subject. It's still arranged a bit like an encyclopedia rather than a textbook, but it could be the best introductory CFD text.

great general discussion but no help for coders

This is an excellent book for general discussion of the subject of CFD. The subjects that are covered are covered very, very well. I especially liked the chapters on finite difference equation convergence.
However, this is a weak book for those actually seeking to implement code for their own algorithms. CFD readers know that there are many methods out there. This book covers only a small fraction of the possibilities. No code is provided at all (either via the book or any web site), and consequently the details of implementing an algorithm are not covered beyond the general rules that apply to all CFD methods.
I strongly recommend this as a good first book to read on CFD, perhaps the best introductory book I've seen. Those wishing to write code will need to supplement this book with further reading. The basic rules that you must know will be well-learned after reading this book.
